Location: Children’s Centre / Community Based
Rate: £36 per hour LTD
Hours: 35 hours per week

Job Purpose n

We are seeking anexperienced Social Worker to join a Children’s Services team deliveringEarly Help / Family Help support to children, young people and their families.

n

The successful candidate will contribute to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, working directly with families to assess needs, manage risk and support positive, sustainable outcomes.

n

This is acommunity-based role , involving work across the local area, so a full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.

Key Responsibilities n

Manage a varied and complex caseload appropriate to experience, with appropriate supervision and support.

n
- n

Undertake high-qualityassessments, care planning and reviews , ensuring practice is evidence-based and child-focused.

n
- n

Identify, assess and managerisk and need , ensuring the safety and welfare of children and young people remains central to all practice.

n
- n

Undertake direct work with children, young people and families to reduce risk, build resilience and achieve positive outcomes.

n
- n

Provide qualified and registered social work in accordance with relevant legislation, statutory guidance, local policies and procedures.

n
- n

Prepare high-qualityreports, statements and representations ,



including information required for Court proceedings where appropriate.

n
- n

Attend and contribute tomulti-agency meetings, professional forums and safeguarding meetings , chairing meetings where required.

n
- n

Work collaboratively with colleagues across Children's Services, education, health, early help and other partner agencies.

n
- n

Maintain accurate, timely and comprehensive case recordings in line with statutory and service requirements.

n
- n

Promote strengths-based, family-focused practice that supports families to make positive and sustainable changes.

n
- n

Ensure all work is undertaken professionally and in accordance with the standards expected of a qualified and registered Social Worker.

Essential Requirements nn
- n

Social Work qualification and current professional registration.

n
- n

Previous experience working withinChildren's Services .

n
- n

Robust experience inEarly Help / Family Help or family support services .

n
- n

Experience managing a caseload and completing assessments, plans and reviews.

n
- n

Ability to assess and manage risk and safeguarding concerns.

n
- n

Experience of working with children, young people and families in a community setting.

n
- n

Strong multi-agency working and communication skills.

n
- n

Good understanding of relevant children's social care legislation and statutory guidance.

n
- n

Excellent written and recording skills.

n
- n

Full driving licence and access to a vehicle – essential.

n
