About the Role

n

As a Holistic Counselling Practitioner, you will provideculturally safe, strengths-based and trauma-informed support to children andyoung people in Child Safety placements, their careers, and families. Workingwithin a whole-of-family framework, you will support healing, strengthencultural identity, and help improve social and emotional wellbeing.

Key responsibilities include:

- Deliveringindividual and group non-clinical therapeutic counselling.
n
- Conductingclient assessments, case planning and case management.
n
- Supportingchildren, young people, carers and families through culturally responsiveinterventions.
n
- Facilitatingconnections to culture, community, Elders and cultural mentoringopportunities.
n
- Collaboratingwith Child Safety, placement providers and community stakeholders.
n
- Advocatingfor clients and connecting them with appropriate services and supports.
n




- Maintainingaccurate case notes, reports and client records.
n
- Participatingin outreach service delivery across Brisbane and Moreton Bay regions.

About You

n

To be successful in this role, you will have:

n

n
- Qualificationsin Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, Community Services, Youth Work,or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
n
- Experienceworking with children, young people and families.
n
- Knowledgeand understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures,communities and contemporary issues.
n
- Experiencedelivering strengths-based, trauma-informed and culturally responsivesupport.
n
- Understandingof child development, child protection principles and family supportpractices.
n
- Strongcase management, assessment, communication and report writing skills.
n
- Abilityto work collaboratively with government, non-government and communitystakeholders.
n
- Strongorganisational and time management skills.
n
- Proficiencyin Microsoft Office and case management systems.
n
- Hold a current and valid Driver Licence.
n
- Hold a current Blue Card (Working with ChildrenCheck).
n
- Hold a current National Police Certificate,issued within the last two years.
n
- Hold a current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance(Yellow Card) or be willing and able to obtain one.
n
- Hold a current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
n
- Be willing and able to undertake outreachactivities and occasional after-hours work as required.

- Bepart of a respected Aboriginal community-controlled organisation.
