Guest Service Agent — The Oceanfront Hotel, Cairns About Us /n

The Role /n

You will create a memorable stay for every guest through warm, attentive service anticipating what they need before they ask, and delivering it promptly, efficiently, and with a smile that's impossible to fake.

What You'll Be Doing /n

/n

- Run a smooth, professional check-in and check-out experience

/n

- Handle phone calls, guest requests, and reservations promptly and accurately

/n

- Communicate with guests in a way that's open, friendly, respectful, and positive

/n

- Know our hotel inside out — room types, rates, and services so you can speak to it confidently

/n

- Look for opportunities to upsell room categories and support hotel revenue

/n

- Create and manage reservations based on guest needs, availability, and budget

/n





- Carry out front office duties in line with company procedures and management direction

/n

- Resolve guest complaints quickly, calmly, and professionally

/n

- Handle guest mail, messages, and deliveries promptly, always protecting guest privacy and security

/n

- Balance your float accurately at the end of each shift, with all cash and card transactions correctly recorded

/n

What We're Looking For /n

/n

- A genuinely bubbly, outgoing personality — someone who connects with people instantly and makes them feel welcome from the first hello

/n

- Reception experience in a similar role or industry

/n

- RMS experience highly regarded

/n

- Flexibility across days, with availability across our 8am–10pm operating hours

/n

- A motivated, can-do attitude and a real passion for guest service

/n
