Leichhardt is an independent, Australian-owned solar salt project headquartered in Perth with operations in northern Western Australia. Our sites include the Lake MacLeod operations near Carnarvon and the Eramurra Project, 55km outside Karratha.

Lake MacLeod also produces approximately 1Mtpa of gypsum, predominantly exported to the Asia-Pacific region. Our gypsum operation includes excavation and water leaching to produce a plasterboard and cement grade product.

About the Role n

We are seeking a Legal Counsel to work closely with the General Counsel and Finance team to support the business across a broad range of commercial, procurement and operational matters. This is a hands-on role where you will review, draft and negotiate commercial agreements, provide practical legal advice to internal stakeholders and help manage contractual and legal risk across the business.

Working in our Subiaco office, this role offers exposure to procurement, operations, projects and corporate activities, making it an excellent opportunity for a lawyer looking to further develop their in-house commercial experience within the resources sector.

Key Responsibilities n

n
- Draft, review, negotiate and administer a broad range of commercial agreements including procurement, supply, service and project contracts
n
- Partner with internal stakeholders to support procurement and commercial activities from contract development through to execution
n




- Provide practical and commercially focused legal advice on contractual rights, obligations and risk allocation
n
- Assist with the development and maintenance of contract templates, policies and procedures
n
- Support compliance initiatives and governance requirements across the business
n
- Liaise with external legal advisers where required
n
- Assist with legal matters relating to mining, native title, heritage, environmental, employment, property and corporate law as they arise
n
- Contribute to the identification and management of legal and commercial risks
n

What We Are Looking For n

To be considered for the role, you will have the following qualifications, skills, attributes and experience:

n

- Tertiary qualification in Law
n
- Current Australian practising certificate
n
- 4-6 years post admission experience in a law firm, or similar in-house role
n
- Solid contract drafting, commercial acumen and a solution-focused approach
n
- Ability to think commercially and propose practical solutions to manage or mitigate risks
n

It will also be highly regarded if you have:

- Experience in mining and resources sector
n
- Experience in procurement and commercial functions
n
