Site Manager n

Our client is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead on-site delivery across multiple construction projects. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who takes pride in running a safe, organised and productive site.

The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers, Foremen, Safety & Quality Officers, subcontractors and construction workers to ensure every project is delivered in accordance with drawings, management plans, budget and quality requirements.

The opportunity n

You will be responsible for the overall performance and successful delivery of assigned projects in a fast-paced commercial environment. You will supervise trades on site, implement quality and safety systems, manage subcontractors and help develop junior staff.

Key responsibilities n

n
- Supervise trades on site and ensure work progresses in accordance with management plans, construction plans and drawings.
n
- Review and implement ITPs in conjunction with the site team and SQP.
n
- Review drawings, specifications and scope of works for all trade packages.
n
- Prepare programmes and ensure they are implemented and executed on site.
n
- Compile defect lists and follow up rectification works.
n
- Complete a daily site diary.
n
- Coordinate with other activities on site that may impact the works.
n
- Assist the Safety & Quality Officer and Project Manager to prepare the Project Risk Register, emergency and evacuation plan and Project Management Plan.
n
- Ensure the PMP and SQP are documented, approved, implemented and regularly reviewed.
n
- Review the project risk register monthly and as the program changes.
n




- Conduct briefings and toolbox talks on work requirements, safety and environmental issues.
n
- Ensure all workers are site inducted and that licences and competencies are recorded.
n
- Ensure statutory signage, traffic management, emergency procedures and first aid provisions are in place.
n
- Ensure amenities are adequate and compliant.
n
- Ensure site workers are supervised and work in accordance with their SWMS.
n
- Support hazard identification, reporting, spot audits and site safety inspections.
n
- Record and investigate incidents, injuries and dangerous occurrences.
n
- Manage non-conformance reports and ensure corrective actions are closed out.
n
- Ensure plant and equipment documentation is in place, electrical tools are tested and tagged, and hazardous materials are accompanied by SDS.
n
- Ensure PPE is provided and worn where required.
n
- Develop and review Job Risk Analysis for tasks.
n
- Supervise, train and mentor staff daily and identify training needs.
n
- Manage subcontractors and assist the Project Manager with financial management.
n
- Train and mentor junior staff to support career progression.
n

About you n

You will be a strong, practical site leader who knows how to keep a project moving without compromising on safety or quality.



You will be comfortable holding subcontractors to account and supporting your team to deliver.
n You will ideally have:

n

- A relevant trade background or formal qualification in a construction-related discipline (advantageous).
n
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, ideally on residential development sites (desired but not essential).
n
- Experience with document management systems.
n
- Strong management, leadership and project management capabilities.
n
- Ability to manage the performance of external consultants and subcontractors.
n
- Ability to interpret and understand drawings.
n
- Strong IT skills and willingness to learn document control tools.
n
- Ability to work to tight deadlines with competing priorities.
n
- Excellent time management, organisation and attention to detail.
n
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
n
