Lithgow Optical is now part of Chemist Warehouse Optometry, a growing eye health platform combining trusted local care, advanced diagnostic technology, robust patient demand and the scale of the Chemist Warehouse network.

We are looking for an experienced part-time Optometrist to join our Lithgow practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an optometrist who wants to practise high-quality clinical optometry, build strong patient relationships and help grow a modern model of community eye care.

The role is initially available on Fridays and Saturdays, with the opportunity to expand to full time following the resident optometrist's planned retirement in a year.

You will work in a modern, well-equipped practice with advanced diagnostic technology, including:

- Auto-refractor and tonometry systems

- Modern clinical and recall systems

Our model supports comprehensive eye care, early disease detection, appropriate referral pathways and accessible advanced diagnostic testing for patients.

About the role

n

You will provide high-quality optometric care in an established Lithgow practice, serving patients across Lithgow and the wider Blue Mountains region.

n

Your role will include:

n

n
- Performing comprehensive eye examinations and vision assessments
n
- Diagnosing, monitoring and managing ocular disease, including diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and macular degeneration
n




- Prescribing glasses and contact lenses
n
- Using OCT, retinal imaging and visual field testing as part of routine clinical care
n
- Supporting early detection, recall and referral pathways
n
- Working collaboratively with optical dispensers, pharmacists and other health professionals
n
- Helping patients complete their care journey through appropriate eyewear, contact lens, recall and referral recommendations
n
- Contributing to the growth of a respected local practice within the Chemist Warehouse Optometry network

About you

n

You are a clinically engaged optometrist who wants to deliver excellent care and be part of a growing, innovative healthcare model.

n

You will ideally have:

n

n
- AHPRA registration as an Optometrist
n
- Therapeutic endorsement
n
- Minimum 2 years' clinical experience
n
- Strong interest in ocular pathology, diabetes eye care and chronic disease monitoring
n
- Confidence in contact lens fitting and prescribing
n
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
n
- A collaborative approach with retail, pharmacy and clinical teams
n
- Commercial awareness and an interest in helping the practice grow sustainably
n
- Availability to work Fridays and Saturdays initially
n
- Permanent residency status or full ongoing working rights in Australia
n
