About the Position n

The Project Planner / Scheduler is responsible for building, managing, and controlling project programmes across large scale electronic security installations within data centre and complex construction environments.

n

This role owns programme integrity, labour forecasting, and schedule driven cost visibility across multiple projects.

n

The Planner works closely with Project Managers and Operations to ensure labour demand, sequencing, and delivery risk are identified early and managed proactively

Programme Development and Control n

n
- Build detailed, logic linked project programmes in Microsoft Project
n
- Develop programmes from first principles based on drawings, scope, builders schedule and site constraints
n
- Define task sequencing, durations, and dependencies aligned to builder milestones Establish and maintain critical path visibility across all active projects
n

Multi Project Coordination nn
- Manage multiple project schedules concurrently
n
- Consolidate individual project programmes into a master programme
n
- Provide a portfolio level view of labour demand, sequencing, and delivery risk
n
- Align project schedules with builder programmes and external trades
n

Labour Forecasting and Cost Integration nn
- Resource load all programmes with labour requirements by activity
n
- Produce weekly labour forecasts across all projects
n
- Model workforce demand, including peaks, constraints, and recovery plans
n
- Apply overtime and loading rates to forecast labour cost impacts
n
- Support Cost to Complete forecasting through schedule driven labour modelling
n

Programme Updates and Change Management nn




- Maintain live programmes with weekly updates from Project Managers and site teams
n
- Assess impact of delays, variations, and scope changes on programme and cost
n
- Re‑sequence works and develop recovery plans where required
n
- Identify risks to delivery early and provide mitigation strategies
n

Stakeholder Coordination nn
- Work closely with Project Managers to align programme with delivery strategy
n
- Support Operations with forward labour planning and resource allocation
n
- Participate in internal project reviews and builder coordination where required
n
- Provide clear, structured reporting on programme status and risks
n
- Fully resource loaded Microsoft Project programmes
n
- Consolidated master programme across all major projects
n
- Weekly labour forecasts and workforce demand curves
n
- Critical path and delay impact reporting
n
- Programme driven input into Cost to Complete and margin tracking
n

About You nn
- Proven experience in construction planning and scheduling within Australia
n
- Strong Microsoft Project capability, including resource loading and multi project consolidation
n
- Experience working on large scale construction or infrastructure projects, data centre experience preferred
n
- Strong understanding of trade sequencing, site constraints, and construction methodologies
n
- Ability to build programmes from first principles, not just maintain existing schedules
n
- Experience forecasting labour and integrating programme outputs into cost tracking
n
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
n
- Australian Citizen
n
- NV1 clearance or ability to hold
n

Required Qualifications and Experience nn
- Proven experience managing large-scale electronic security projects in construction environments.
n
- Background in Data Centre projects strongly preferred.
n
- Demonstrated success coordinating large teams of installers (10–40).
n
- Strong ability to identify/manage variations, dependencies, and complex construction interfaces.
n
- Proficiency with project management software including Microsoft Project, Excel, and Word.
n
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
n
- Experience engaging with builders, consultants, subcontractors, and enterprise clients.
n
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
n

Desirable Qualifications and Experience nn
- Proven experience as a Project Manager, successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
n
- Experience managing projects in Construction environment.
n
- Proficient in project management tools and software.
n
- Experience with Microsoft Project, Excel and Word.
n
- Experience in the electronic security or similarly related electronic or IT industry is preferred.
n
- Familiarity with SimPro or similar project/job management platforms.
n
- Strong understanding of both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, with the ability to apply a hybrid approach.
n
