Parkview Constructions is looking for a Junior Site Safety Officer to join our team and develop your career in construction health and safety.

Founded in 1997, Parkview is a multi-award-winning construction company with more than 180 employees and a strong pipeline of residential and commercial projects across Sydney.

This is a excellent opportunity for someone who is early in their safety career and wants to gain hands-on experience on a live construction site, working alongside experienced construction and safety professionals.

n

Reporting to the Site Manager or Safety Advisor, you will support the construction team with day-to-day safety activities, help maintain Parkview's WHS&E; systems and develop your knowledge of construction safety, legislation and best practice.

About the role n

Your responsibilities will include:

n

- Conducting regular site safety inspections and following up outstanding items.
n
- Supporting site inductions and ensuring workers have the appropriate identification and documentation.
n
- Acting as a first point of contact for first aid on site and assisting with the recording, reporting and investigation of incidents and near misses.
n
- Supporting the implementation and ongoing review of Parkview's WHS&E; Management System and site safety plans.
n
- Assisting with safety committees, pre-starts and workplace consultation.Maintaining site safety signage, notices, first aid supplies and safety registers.
n
- Assisting with the installation and maintenance of safety controls including handrails, barricades and traffic signage.
n
- Monitoring subcontractors and labour hire workers to ensure safe work practices are being followed.
n
- Assisting with identifying high-risk activities and developing safe work procedures and SWMS.
n
- Conducting subcontractor pre-start safety checks and monitoring their safety performance.
n




- Assisting with the collection and reporting of safety information and statistics.
n
- Supporting the coordination of safety training for Parkview employees.
n
- Assisting with the administration and ongoing improvement of Parkview's WHS&E; systems.

What we're looking for n

This role would suit someone who is keen to build a career in construction safety, is comfortable working on site and enjoys working with people.

You will ideally have:

n

n
- A construction, engineering, building or related qualification.
n
- A developing understanding of construction safety legislation, regulations and standards.
n
- A Construction White Card.
n
- Cert IV in Occupational Health & Safety – desirable.
n
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
n
- A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to learn.
n
- Good organisation and attention to detail.
n
- The confidence to speak with site teams, subcontractors and employees.
n
- A genuine interest in health, safety and the construction industry.
n
