Strathcona Girls Grammar is seeking an enthusiastic, creative and highly capable educator to join our teaching team at Tay Creggan, our Year 9 campus located on the banks of the Yarra River in Hawthorn.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate teacher to work within our innovative Year 9 program, where students engage in a rich and challenging curriculum designed to foster independence, curiosity, creativity and personal growth.

About the Role n

The successful applicant will teach and deliver engaging and contemporary English learning experiences that inspire students to develop strong literacy skills, a love of literature, and confidence in their communication and critical thinking.

Key Responsibilities n

- Plan and deliver high quality English programs for Year 9 students.
n
- Create engaging learning experiences that cater to diverse learning needs.
n
- Use evidence based teaching practices to maximise student growth and achievement.
n
- Assess, monitor and report on student progress in accordance with School expectations.
n
- Foster a positive, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
n
- Contribute to the pastoral care and wellbeing of students.
n
- Participate in the co-curricular life of the School and Tay Creggan community.
n
- Support the values and strategic direction of Strathcona.
n

About You n

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

- Strong knowledge of the Victorian Curriculum and contemporary educational practice.
n
- A passion for teaching English and engaging adolescent learners.
n
- Experience in delivering innovative and student centred learning programs.
n
- Strong organisational, communication and relationship building skills.
n
- A collaborative and solutions focused approach to working with peers and leaders.
n
- A commitment to the wellbeing, learning and development of young people.
n
- Current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).
n
- Understanding of and commitment to child safety and student wellbeing.
n
- Eligibility to work in Australia.
n
