Prestige Civil Group is a privately owned civil construction group operating across asphalt paving, civil construction, concrete maintenance, premix concrete, traffic management and transport.

We are seeking an experienced SHEQ and Compliance Lead to help maintain high standards of safety, environmental, quality and regulatory compliance across our operations.

n

This is a practical, hands-on role with a strong field presence. You will work closely with managers, supervisors and crews to identify risk, strengthen systems and ensure safe working practices are understood and consistently applied.

The role n

Your key responsibilities will include:

n

- Supporting the ongoing management of ISO accreditations and associated audits.
n
- Maintaining and improving our safety, environmental and quality management systems.
n
- Conducting site inspections, risk assessments and compliance reviews.
n
- Investigating incidents, injuries, hazards, near misses and equipment damage, including identifying root causes and corrective actions.
n
- Monitoring the quality and completion of SWMS, SOPs, pre-starts, toolbox meetings and operational documentation.
n
- Reviewing safety and compliance data to identify trends, risks and areas for improvement.
n
- Coaching managers, supervisors and employees on their safety and compliance responsibilities.
n
- Coordinating workplace health and compliance activities, including drug and alcohol testing, hearing tests, first aid and emergency preparedness.
n
- Supporting compliance with Victorian OHS legislation, environmental requirements, Chain of Responsibility and relevant industry standards.

- Managing subcontractor compliance across plant, transport and site-based activities.
n
- Coordinating reporting to WorkSafe, the EPA and other regulatory bodies when required.
n
- Supporting tenders and client requests by providing accurate SHEQ and compliance information.
n
- Delivering toolbox presentations, training and safety communications across the business.

About you n

To be successful in this role, you will have:

n

n
- Substantial experience in a SHEQ, safety or compliance role, ideally within civil construction,infrastructure or a similar operational environment.
n
- A relevant qualification in occupational health and safety.
n
- Experience maintaining management systems and supporting ISO accreditation and external audits.
n
- Strong knowledge of risk management, incident investigation and corrective action processes.
n
- Practical knowledge of SWMS, SOPs, pre-starts, toolbox meetings and site compliance requirements.
n
- The confidence to work directly with operational teams and challenge unsafe or non-compliant practices when required.
n
- Solid coaching, influencing and communication skills.
n
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce clear reports and compliance documentation.
n
- A current construction induction card and valid driver licence.
