Sands Fridge Lines is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join our team based in Forrestfield, Western Australia.

n

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this role is ideal for a payroll professional who can confidently manage end-to-end payroll processes, maintain compliance with legislative and industrial requirements, and contribute to the continuous improvement of payroll operations.

n

You will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for weekly and fortnightly employees, while partnering closely with Finance, HR, and operational leaders to ensure a high standard of service delivery across the business.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Process payroll for approximately 250-300 employees, ensuring all payments are calculated accurately and in accordance with relevant Awards, Enterprise Agreements, allowances, and approved variations.
n
- Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, industrial instruments, company policies, and statutory obligations.
n
- Manage payroll enquiries, investigations, adjustments, terminations, and back pays in a timely and professional manner.
n
- Prepare and support month-end and statutory reporting, including PAYG, Superannuation, Payroll Tax, and Child Support obligations.
n
- Produce payroll and headcount reporting for key business stakeholders.
n
- Maintain accurate employee leave records and ensure leave entitlements are correctly accrued and reported.
n
- Provide accounting and administrative support to the Finance team as required.
n
- Stay informed of changes to Awards, Enterprise Agreements, payroll legislation,



and industrial relations requirements.

- Work collaboratively with HR to ensure employee records, contractual obligations, and payroll processes are maintained accurately.
n
- Assist with year-end reconciliations, reporting, and other statutory requirements.
n
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls, and efficiencies.

Requirements

n

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

n

n
- A current Australian driver's licence and reliable transport.
n
- Proven experience in a high-volume payroll environment with end-to-end payroll processing responsibilities.
n
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and compliance requirements.
n
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
n
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
n




- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

- Confidence in escalating issues appropriately and communicating effectively with managers and stakeholders.
n
- High levels of integrity and confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.

Experience & Qualifications

n

n
- Minimum 5 years' experience in an end-to-end payroll position.
n
- Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Certificate IV in Payroll Administration, Accounting, or a related discipline.
n
- Able to work within demanding and competing timeframes.
n
- Strong aptitude for process management and continuous improvement.
n
- Sound working knowledge of Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
n
- Experience using Access Micropay or any other payroll software and UKG payroll systems will be highly regarded.
n
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is a must.
n
