Senior Construction Manager, Contracts Manager, Senior Project Manager – Aviation, Construction

n

We are looking for an accomplished Senior Construction Manager to take a leading role in a growing specialist airport infrastructure business.

n

This is more than project delivery. You will have the opportunity to shape the construction function, influence delivery strategy and build the capability needed to support future growth.

n

Based out of our Northamptonshire Headquarters and with UK-wide travel, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple UK construction projects, ensuring safe, profitable and high-quality delivery. Working closely with design, engineering, manufacturing and commercial teams, you will drive construction excellence from pre-construction through to handover.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES n

As our Senior Construction Manager, you will be :

n




- Providing senior leadership across multiple concurrent UK construction projects.
n
- Developing and implementing construction standards, governance and delivery strategy.
n
- Leading and developing Project Managers, Site Managers and wider delivery teams.
n
- Driving programme, safety, quality, productivity and commercial performance.
n
- Overseeing design coordination, buildability and construction readiness through RIBA Stages 0-7.
n
- Integrating off-site manufacture, modular construction and DfMA into delivery where appropriate.
n
- Managing complex interfaces across design, engineering, procurement, manufacturing and construction.
n
- Ensuring safe and effective delivery within live airport and operational environments.
n
- Building strong relationships with clients, airport operators, contractors and senior stakeholders.
n
- Providing construction expertise across pre-construction, tenders, business development and strategic growth.
n
- Driving continuous improvement, lessons learned and the development of a scalable construction function.
n

PERSON SPECIFICATION nn
- Strong experience working for, or closely alongside, a Principal Contractor.
n
- Excellent construction planning, programme and delivery management skills.
n
- Thorough working knowledge of the RIBA Plan of Work 0-7.
n
- Strong multidisciplinary design coordination and buildability experience.
n
- Solid understanding of CDM,



construction Health and Safety and risk management.
n
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of the link between methodology, programme, cost and profitability.
n
- Experience managing subcontractors, specialist contractors and supply chains.
n
- Excellent client and senior stakeholder management skills.
n
- The credibility and confidence to challenge, make decisions and intervene when delivery is at risk.
n
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the UK.
n

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE nn
- Experience in airport / aviation infrastructure, live operational environments, modular / off-site construction, MMC, DfMA, complex logistics, high-security or regulated environments would be highly advantageous.
n
- Relevant qualifications such as SMSTS, CSCS management-level certification and a construction, engineering or related skilled qualification are expected.
