Position Information

James Busby High School is a diverse and inclusive co-educational comprehensive high school located in south-west Sydney with an enrolment of 548. Our setting includes a large and dynamic Special Education Unit comprising 10 classes, with 96 enrolled students. We celebrate our multicultural student body that includes 41 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, as well as 81% of students from a language background other than English.

This position sits within the schools HSIE faculty.

Specific Selection Criteria

- 1.Approval to teach History 7-10, Modern History and Ancient History.
- 2. Deep curriculum knowledge with demonstrated commitment to improving academic achievement through effective feedback and assessment.
- 3. Demonstrated effective classroom management skills which promote an engaging and inclusive learning environment,



fostering a culture of high expectations.
- 4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that build positive relationships with staff, students, school community, and a collaborative HSIE faculty.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching chance.
