About the role

n

An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated Grade 2 Registered Nurse with perioperative scrub/scout experience, who are seeking a challenging and rewarding opportunity to become part of our dynamic team, on a permanent basis.

n

We are able to provide you with excellent educational opportunities across a broad range of specialities including Cardiothoracic, Vascular, Neurosurgery, ENT, Plastics, General, Colorectal, Urology and Orthopaedics.

n

Classifications for this position will range from YP3 - YP9 ($69,253.60 - $92,601.60 pro rata per annum).

n

Duties

n

n
- Ability to work efficiently as a member of a multidisciplinary team
n
- Managing the physical and emotional well-being of the patient
n
- Administration of medication in accordance with hospital procedures, protocols and policies
n
- Assist with medical and diagnostic procedures carried out in the unit
n
- Document, observe and report relevant nursing findings within the framework of nursing progress.
n

A Bit About You

n

n
- Completed Bachelor of Nursing Degree with a current Nursing Registration with AHPRA
n
- Post Graduate Diploma or Certificate in Perioperative Nursing (desirable)
n
- Minimum 12 months current experience in perioperative nursing and a good understanding of the current standards of practice
n
- Motivated, professional & exhibiting exceptional communication and time management skills.

About the Department

n

St Vincent's Operating Suite currently houses 12 theatres, 12 anaesthetic rooms and a Post Anaesthetic Care Area. Working alongside the Sterile Processing Centre, Day Procedures and Endoscopy Centres. The department undertakes over 9,000 procedures per year in a vast range of highly specialised and complex specialities over a 24 hour period, 7 days per week.
