An exciting prospect exists for a Planning Officer (LocalPlanning Policy and Planning Reform) to contribute to a broad rangeof strategic and statutory planning initiatives that help shape theCity's future development. In this role, you will assist with thereview and implementation of local planning policies, proceduresand planning reforms, undertake planning projects and studies,prepare reports and correspondence, and provide professionalplanning advice across a variety of planning matters. You will workcollaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, supportheritage and strategic planning programs, contribute to projectteams, and assist in aligning the City's planning framework withState planning reforms.



This diverse role offers exposure to a widerange of planning functions while supporting the delivery ofhigh-quality planning outcomes for the community.

You have well-developed written and verbal communication skills,supported by strong negotiation and interpersonal abilities thatenable you to build effective working relationships with a range ofstakeholders. Highly organised, you possess sound projectmanagement skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.You have a strong understanding of town planning legislation,principles, and associated environmental and land use practices,together with their practical application. A degree in UrbanPlanning, or a related discipline is essential, along with relevantprofessional experience that supports eligibility for membership ofthe Planning Institute ofAustralia.

To be considered for this role, you must address thefollowing selection criteria as part of your onlineapplication:

- Degree in Urban Planning or equivalent in a relatedfield.
- Eligibility for membership to the Planning Institute ofAustralia.
- Well-developed communication, negotiation, decision-making,and interpersonal skills.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- Sound knowledge of planning principles, legislation, landuse practices, and Local Government planning processes.
- Knowledge of the Residential Design Codes (R-Codes),subdivision and development approval processes, and relatedlegislation.
- Demonstrated experience in a planning related role.





We are offering a salary range between $102,707 to$110,461 per annum, depending on skill and experience,and:

- 12% superannuation with the option to co-contribute up to afurther 5%
