Red Seal Diesel Mechanic Heavy Plant / Construction Equipment A well-established organisation operating within the road construction, plant and heavy equipment setting is looking for an experienced Red Seal Diesel Mechanic to join its team in Wadeville, Gauteng.

n

This role is ideal for a hands-on mechanic with solid experience maintaining and repairing heavy plant, construction equipment and commercial diesel vehicles.

Key Responsibilities n

n
- Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on diesel-powered vehicles, plant and equipment.
n
- Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out effective fault-finding.
n
- Repair and maintain diesel engines, transmissions, drivetrains, steering and suspension systems.
n
- Work on hydraulic and air systems.
n
- Attend to breakdowns and field-service requirements when needed.
n
- Conduct mechanical inspections and identify potential failures before they occur.
n
- Complete job cards, inspection checklists and service records accurately.
n
- Maintain records of repairs, servicing and parts used.
n
- Assist with spare parts and component control.
n
- Ensure all work is completed in line with company health, safety and operational standards.
n

Minimum Requirements nn
- Grade 12 / Matric.
n
- Recognised Diesel Mechanic Trade Test / Red Seal qualification essential .
n




- Minimum 5 years post-trade experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
n
- Proven experience working on heavy plant, construction equipment and/or commercial vehicles .
n
- Strong diesel mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
n
- Practical experience with hydraulics, transmissions, drivetrains, steering and suspension systems.
n
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and Afrikaans .
n
- Own mechanical tools.
n
- Willingness to work overtime, standby and attend breakdowns when required.
n
- Willingness to travel to operational sites when necessary.
n
- Advantageous EC drivers licence.
n
- Experience within road construction, civil construction, asphalt, bitumen, earthmoving or heavy plant environments.
n
- Previous field-service or breakdown experience.
n
