Job Description

We are a building material wholesale company seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our permanent team in Sydney, NSW, reporting directly to the Business Lead.

About the role n

This role manages end-to-end bookkeeping, import/export landed cost reconciliation, supplier reconciliation, and cross-border payment settlement. It also covers compliant Australian tax and payroll processing — including BAS, GST, PAYG withholding, and superannuation lodgement — alongside monthly financial reporting.

Key responsibilities n

Manage the full accounting cycle via MYOB, including AP/AR and tax invoice issuance

n

Reconcile accounts and liaise with local and overseas suppliers to resolve billing discrepancies

n

Perform bank reconciliation, foreign exchange booking, and cross-border payment checking; allocate sea freight and customs costs to container import orders

n

Prepare monthly/quarterly BAS and GST reports, and liaise with external tax accountants on lodgement and tax document filing

n

Manage full payroll, including PAYG withholding, leave record-keeping,



and superannuation calculation and lodgement

n

Maintain complete import documentation (invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, customs clearance documents)

n

Prepare monthly P&L;, Balance Sheet, and batch profit analysis reports

n

Support external tax agents with annual income tax filing

About you n

Australian Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or a relevant accounting qualification

n

Advanced MYOB skills, with hands-on experience in foreign currency accounting and inventory landed cost calculation

n

In-depth knowledge of Australian GST, BAS, PAYG, and superannuation regulations

n

Prior experience with import/export supplier reconciliation preferred

n

Proficient in Excel (ledger recording, PivotTables, financial analysis)

n

Meticulous, deadline-driven approach to month-end close and BAS lodgement

n

Competent English reading and writing skills; basic Chinese is a bonus

n

Self-motivated, resilient under pressure, and a quick learner
