We're partnering with a large enterprise organisation looking for an experienced Oracle / PL/SQL Developer to join a major, multi-year technology program.

n

This is a hands-on development role working within a large, established enterprise application environment. You'll be working across an existing Oracle codebase, troubleshooting complex issues, enhancing functionality and delivering controlled changes to business-critical systems.

n

The initial contract is for 12 months, with the program expected to run for several years and strong potential for ongoing extensions.

About the Role n

You'll be responsible for:

n

n
- Developing, maintaining and enhancing applications built on Oracle Database and PL/SQL
n
- Working across complex existing codebases and understanding dependencies between systems
n
- Troubleshooting production and application issues and identifying root causes
n
- Building and modifying stored procedures, packages, functions, triggers and complex SQL
n
- Supporting application enhancements, releases and ongoing system improvements
n
- Working with Unix/Linux environments and scripting
n




- Reviewing and optimising SQL and PL/SQL where required
n
- Collaborating with technical and business teams across a large enterprise environment
n
- Delivering changes carefully within established development and release processes
n

About You n

You'll be a strong Oracle Developer, rather than a DBA or Data Engineer, with significant hands-on experience in:

- Oracle Database
n
- Complex SQL development
n
- Unix/Linux and shell scripting
n
- Troubleshooting and debugging existing enterprise applications
n
- Working within large, complex technology environments
n
- Maintaining and enhancing mature systems rather than working solely on greenfield development
n

n

Experience in any of the following would be highly regarded:

n

n
- Oracle Advanced Queuing (AQ)
n
- SQL and database performance tuning
n
- High-volume transactional systems
n
- Billing or metering platforms
n
- Energy, utilities or similarly complex regulated environments
n
