Hardware Technician - Computer, Laptop, Phone & Tablet Repair

n

Sydney Mobile Phone Repairs (Sydney Telweb Pty Ltd) is an established repair centre in Kingsgrove, trading since 2012 and an Apple Independent Repair Provider. We are looking for an experienced Hardware Technician to join our busy repair workshop.

This is a skilled technical role - NOT an entry-level or trainee position.

THE ROLE n

You will install, test, diagnose, repair, upgrade and maintain computer and ICT hardware, including:

- MacBooks, laptops and desktop computers
n
- iPhone and Samsung smartphones
n
- iPads and other tablets
n
- PlayStation, Xbox and other gaming consoles
n
- Replacing and upgrading hardware components - screens, batteries, storage, keyboards, charging ports, connectors and internal flex cables
n
- Component-level soldering and logic board repairs
n
- Advanced board-level work - CPU / chip swaps, reballing, NAND replacement and storage upgrades
n
- Data recovery from damaged, liquid-damaged and non-booting devices
n
- Diagnosing hardware faults using diagnostic software, test equipment and schematics
n
- Installing and configuring operating systems and software after repairs, and data transfer
n




- Testing all devices and quality-checking repairs before return to the customer
n
- Recording repairs, parts used and test results in our job management system
n
- Explaining faults and repair options to customers
n

ABOUT YOU nn
- Minimum 3 years' professional experience repairing computer / mobile device hardware (or a relevant IT or electronics qualification)
n
- Strong hardware fault-diagnosis and soldering skills
n
- Confident with charging ports, connectors and internal flex cables
n
- Experience with CPU swaps, NAND upgrades and data recovery highly regarded
n
- Laptop / MacBook and gaming console repair experience highly regarded
n
- Fast, accurate and organised - around 15+ completed jobs per day depending on complexity
n
- High quality workmanship with a low comeback rate
n
- Able to work independently
n
- Reliable and punctual
n
- Able to communicate with customers in English
n

WHAT WE OFFER nn
- $80,000 - $85,000 per year + superannuation (depending on experience)
