So, what duties can you expect to do in your apprenticeship?
- Gain hands-on experience maintaining commercial gardens and landscaped sites.
- Work alongside experienced horticulture and landscape professionals.
- Learn planting, pruning, mulching, weeding and general garden care techniques.
- Assist with turf,
irrigation and drainage maintenance across commercial sites.
- Develop strong plant identification and plant care knowledge.
- Learn to safely use horticultural tools, equipment and machinery.
- Develop practical skills in soil preparation, garden establishment and maintenance.
- Learn safe and responsible herbicide and pesticide application practices.
- Build knowledge of workplace safety, site standards and skilled horticultural practices.
- Complete a Certificate III in Parks and Gardens while gaining valuable on-the-job experience.
