Cafe Noah Taren Point is looking for an experienced and motivated Cook to join our team on a full-time basis. We are looking for someone who enjoys preparing quality cafe-style food, takes pride in their work and can confidently manage the day-to-day food preparation requirements of a busy breakfast and lunch cafe.

The successful applicant will work closely with management to ensure the menu is prepared consistently and the kitchen is well organised throughout daily service.

The Opportunity

As our Cook, you will be responsible for the daily preparation and cooking of our breakfast and lunch menu. You will play an important role in ensuring our menu items are prepared to a consistent standard, ingredients are ready for service and the kitchen operates efficiently during busy periods.

The role also provides an prospect to contribute ideas for menu items and weekly specials, while working closely with management to improve food preparation, consistency and overall kitchen efficiency.

Key responsibilities

Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes, menus and presentation standards

Preparing ingredients, including meat, seafood, vegetables, sauces, stocks and garnishes

Operating grills, fryers, stovetops, ovens and other commercial kitchen equipment

Monitoring the quality of ingredients and finished dishes

Ensuring consistent portion sizes, flavour and presentation

Assisting with menu preparation and the development of new dishes when required

Managing food preparation and service during busy periods





Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering and inventory control

Minimising food waste and following appropriate food-storage procedures

Maintaining a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen

About you

Previous experience as a Cook or similar hospitality role

Experience preparing and cooking breakfast and lunch cafe-style food

Good knowledge of common cafe menu preparation and cooking techniques

Strong food preparation and organisational skills

The ability to follow recipes and maintain consistent portion sizes and food quality

Good understanding of food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness

An understanding of stock rotation, ingredient preparation and minimising food wastage

Good communication and teamwork skills

The ability to remain calm, organised and focused during busy service periods

Reliability, professionalism and attention to detail
