nTHE ROLE n
n

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic to undertake a broad range of vehicle servicing, diagnostic and repair work. The successful candidate will have strong mechanical and diagnostic skills, excellent attention to detail and a commitment to providing safe, high-quality workmanship and customer service.

nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: n
n

- Inspect and diagnose light vehicles to identify mechanical and electrical faults affecting engines and other vehicle systems.
n
n
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in key components,



including engines, transmissions, steering and associated systems.
n
n
- Interpret diagnostic indicators and warning lights using appropriate diagnostic equipment to identify and rectify faults.
n
n
- Perform scheduled servicing and routine maintenance, including oil changes, tyre replacement and other preventative maintenance.
n
n
- Dismantle, repair, replace and reassemble vehicle components in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safe working procedures.
n
n
- Test engine and vehicle performance, including acceleration, idling and general operation, to identify faults and assess repair outcomes.
n
n
- Prepare detailed vehicle inspection reports, repair plans and other required documentation.
n
n
- Inspect and maintain workshop tools and equipment to ensure they remain safe and operational.
n
n
- Road-test vehicles as required to diagnose faults and confirm completed repairs are effective.
n
n
- Work collaboratively with other team members to maintain high standards of workplace health and safety.
n
n
- Communicate with customers regarding identified faults, recommended repairs and ongoing vehicle maintenance requirements.
n

nWHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: n
n

n
- Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis (or agreed equivalent).
n
n
- Minimum of one year of post training experience working as a Motor Mechanic in an automotive workshop environment.
n
n
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose, service and repair a broad range of light vehicles.
n
n
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills and proficiency in using automotive diagnostic and repair equipment.
n
n
- Physical capability to safely remove and refit major vehicle components using appropriate workshop equipment.
n
n
- Basic knowledge of vehicle roadworthiness standards and requirements.
n
n
- Thorough understanding of workplace health and safety requirements within an automotive workshop.
n
n
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
n
n
- A valid Australian Driver's licence, with the ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
n
n
- Robust communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach.
n
n

- A competitive salary of $79,000 to $89,000 (dependent on experience) plus superannuation per annum.
