Your Mission:

As Propeller grows, new challenges come with it. We’re looking for a Legal Counsel to join our team and help us navigate them across Australia and our global business. You’ll be right in the middle of the action, providing practical, commercially-minded legal guidance to teams across the business, helping move deals forward, protect Propeller’s interests, and navigate legal risks without slowing things down.

You’ll bring calm, clear judgement to complex situations, balancing legal risk with the realities of how a fast-growing business operates. You’ll work closely with teams across Sales, Marketing, RevOps and beyond, helping answer questions, solve problems and make smart decisions. Your work will also play an important role in protecting our software and hardware IP, strengthening our legal and compliance foundations, and supporting a culture of innovation as we continue to scale globally.

Your Responsibilities:

- Own commercial legal work globally: support teams across Australia, the Americas,



the UK and Europe with contracts, negotiations and day-to-day legal questions.
- Get involved in big business moments: support investments, fundraising, M&A; and other corporate and commercial transactions.
- Partner with the Sales team on customer and vendor agreements, helping find practical solutions that balance commercial goals and risk.
- Be a trusted legal partner to Marketing, RevOps and other teams, providing clear, practical advice that helps them move quickly.
- Own privacy & compliance: advise on Privacy and GDPR requirements and work with the Security team to help us stay ahead of regulatory changes.
- Help navigate legal risk across our global operations and workforce, turning complex laws into practical guidance for the business.
- Manage legal disputes and work with external counsel where needed, including litigation and alternative dispute resolution.
- Stay ahead of what’s changing: keep across new legislation and regulations and help the business respond quickly to emerging risks.
- Help build the legal function as we scale: improve processes, introduce smarter ways of working and make it easier for the business to get the legal support it needs.

Requirements

- 5+ years’ PQE, a law degree and current Practising Certificate.
- In-house legal experience, ideally within a venture-backed technology or SaaS business.




- Experience working on complex, high-value commercial transactions. International or cross-border experience is a plus.
- Experience with, or a strong interest in GDPR and data privacy.
- An understanding of AI regulation and compliance in SaaS, plus experience or an interest in using AI to work smarter day to day.
- Pragmatic judgement: you’re comfortable navigating ambiguity, making calls and balancing risk with commercial outcomes.
- Solid negotiation skills and the confidence to work directly with stakeholders across the business.
- A clear, collaborative communication style, with the ability to turn complex legal concepts into simple, practical advice.
