Two temporary AO5 Senior Ranger (Disaster Recovery) positions: Play a key role in Queensland’s disaster recovery efforts.
These roles are responsible for coordinating asset management, infrastructure restoration, and natural disaster recovery programs across the Central Region. The positions support the assessment, prioritisation, and recovery of QPWS assets impacted by cyclones, floods, storms, bushfires, and other natural disaster events.
Key responsibilities include managing recovery projects from initial damage assessment through to completion, including the development of scopes of work, cost estimates, recovery priorities, funding submissions, and project delivery activities. The roles also monitor budgets and expenditure, maintain recovery work programs, prepare technical documentation and reports, and provide advice and support to regional staff.
In addition, these positions lead procurement and contract management activities for materials, contractors, and specialist services, ensuring recovery projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with funding requirements, procurement policies, and relevant legislative obligations.
