The opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Wintel Lead to provide technical leadership across a complex enterprise infrastructure environment.

You will set the technical direction for Windows Server, virtualisation, networking and hybrid identity services while mentoring team members and acting as the senior escalation point for critical infrastructure issues.

This role would suit a hands-on technical leader who enjoys solving complex problems, improving infrastructure performance and working closely with stakeholders to deliver secure and reliable solutions.

What you’ll do

- Lead the design, implementation and ongoing management of Windows Server services across on-premises and hybrid cloud environments.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to Windows subject matter experts and administrators.
- Own and govern Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy across the enterprise.
- Manage and optimise Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM) for patching, software deployment and compliance.
- Administer Microsoft Entra ID, including hybrid identity, Conditional Access and device registration.
- Manage VMware vSphere and Nutanix environments, including capacity planning, patching and performance optimisation.
- Administer Infoblox for enterprise DNS and IP address management.
- Act as the senior escalation point for critical infrastructure incidents and lead post-incident reviews.
- Partner with architecture and security teams to maintain infrastructure standards and compliance.
- Translate stakeholder requirements into practical and supportable technical solutions.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, runbooks and standard operating procedures.

What you’ll bring





- Extensive experience in Windows Server administration and infrastructure engineering, ideally across complex enterprise environments.
- Expert knowledge of Windows Server 2012 R2 through to Windows Server 2022.
- Deep hands-on experience with SCCM/MECM, including operating system deployment, software distribution, patch management and co-management.
- Advanced Active Directory expertise covering domain design, domain controllers, Group Policy, trusts and replication.
- Strong DNS administration experience, including Infoblox DDI.
- Experience managing Microsoft Entra ID within a hybrid environment.
- Strong VMware vSphere administration capability across vCenter and ESXi.
- Hands-on experience with Nutanix AHV, AOS and Prism.
- Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement based in Ballarat.

Bonus points if you have

- Experience with VMware vSAN.
- Microsoft Azure or broader hybrid cloud experience.
- Relevant certifications such as MCSE, VCP or Nutanix NCA.
