Our Client Our client is an established Australian energy business operating within a complex and evolving commercial and regulatory environment. The legal team works closely with stakeholders across the organisation to support its strategic and operational objectives, creating a wide-ranging in-house practice spanning commercial arrangements, energy and regulatory matters, procurement, disputes and broader operational issues. The Role Reporting to the General Counsel, you will join an experienced legal team and act as a trusted adviser across the business, providing practical and commercially focused advice on a range of matters. The role has a particular focus on disputes and litigation, while also providing broader commercial and regulatory support across the legal function. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external advisers to navigate complex issues and deliver pragmatic solutions aligned with business objectives. Key responsibilities include: Managing and advising on commercial disputes, litigation and dispute resolution; Providing legal support to energy-related and regulatory matters; Advising on commercial arrangements, procurement and broader business matters; Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements and settlements; Managing external legal providers and specialist advisers; and Preparing advice,



briefings and reports for senior management, the Executive Leadership Team and Board. About You You will ideally bring: 6+ years' post-admission experience, gained in private practice and/or in-house; Strong litigation, commercial dispute resolution or contentious commercial experience; Broader commercial legal capability and confidence partnering directly with the business; Strong judgement and an ability to translate complex issues into practical advice; and The ability to manage competing priorities and progress complex matters autonomously. Experience within energy, resources, infrastructure or another highly regulated sector will be highly regarded. Importantly, you will be someone who takes ownership, enjoys working closely with stakeholders and is prepared to roll up your sleeves across both complex matters and the broader needs of the legal function.
