About the role

Mater Private Hospital Townsville is inviting expressions of interest from experienced internal Registered Nurses who are ready to take the next step in their career by transitioning into a Clinical Nurse role within our Surgical Ward . The successful applicant will secure Part Time employment, working 32 hours per week. To be considered for this opportunity, this role requires participation in a 24/7 rotating roster including morning, afternoon, night shifts and weekends.

Salary range: $57.48 - $61.55 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing

n

n
- Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and the continuum of care
n
- Demonstrating exceptional clinical expertise and knowledge of emergency procedures and the management of patients seeking outstanding care
n
- Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued qualified growth
n
- Supporting the Nurse Unit Manager in implementing strategies to ensure that quality and risk management are integrated into service provision
n
- Lead, participate and collaborate with other key stakeholders in the design and implementation of continuous improvement activities and models of care for enhanced service provision.
n




- Liaise with other senior nursing roles and multidisciplinary teams to ensure strong communication networks are maintained.
n
- Identify and actively communicate future issues and new directions for the service.
n
- Escalate issues impacting on clinical practice and care delivery.
n
- Establishes and promotes effective model of care with family that ensure continuity of care.

About you

n

To be successful in the role, you will possess:

n

n
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
n
- Extensive demonstrated experience in a surgical ward
n
- Minimum three years’ post-registration experience in a surgical or high-acuity environment
n
- Postgraduate qualification in critical care (or working towards) is desirable
n
- You will have strong leadership ability and experience, as well as excellent time management skills
n
- A strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to role model and promote the Mater values
n
- Demonstrated high level of communication and the ability to communicate with your team as an effective senior leader
n
