Safe Planet is looking for a 2nd, 3rd or 4th Year Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Apprentice to join our growing Melbourne installation team.

n

This is a hands-on role working alongside a licensed tradesman with 40+ years of industry experience who genuinely wants to teach the next generation.

n

You'll be involved in complete installations — not just carrying tools or doing the same basic tasks every day.

n

What you'll get

- $55,000–$70,000 + super, depending on apprenticeship year and experience

What you'll be working on

n

You'll gain practical experience across residential air-conditioning installations, including:

n

n
- Ducted reverse-cycle systems
n
- Split and multi-head/VRF systems
n
- Indoor and outdoor unit installation
n
- Ductwork, outlets and return-air systems
n
- Copper pipework and brazing
n
- Pressure testing and vacuuming
n
- Refrigeration pipework
n
- Condensate and drainage
n
- Replacement of existing gas ducted heating systems
n
- Commissioning and testing
n
- General installation and site work
n

The aim is simple: we want you to understand how to complete the whole job properly, not just one part of it.

Who we're looking for

n

We're looking for someone who is:

n

n
- Currently a 2nd, 3rd or 4th Year Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Apprentice
n
- Reliable and turns up on time
n
- Keen to learn and improve
n
- Comfortable working in roof spaces and under floors
n
- Willing to listen, ask questions and take direction
n
- Proud of doing clean, professional work
n
- Respectful when working inside customers' homes
n
- Able to work well as part of a team
n
- Holding an Australian driver's licence (preferred)
n
- Holding a White Card, or willing to obtain one
n

n

A strong 1st-year apprentice with genuine hands-on HVAC experience may also be considered.

Safe Planet is a 7 year old established Melbourne energy-efficiency company and an Accredited Provider under the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program.

We help Victorian households replace older gas heating with efficient reverse-cycle air conditioning and also operate across hot water, solar and battery upgrades.

Our air-conditioning division is growing, and we're building a strong in-house installation team for the long term.

This creates a genuine pathway for the right apprentice to complete their apprenticeship, become qualified and continue growing with the business.
