SAP SuccessFactors EC Functional Consultant

Our client, a well-established organisation based in Brisbane, is seeking an experienced, hands-on SAP SuccessFactors Functional Consultant to own the configuration, security, and stability of their SuccessFactors landscape.

This role focuses on Employee Central and Recruiting. It's a great opportunity for a configuration specialist who enjoys working independently and being the go-to technical authority for the platform. This is a hands‑on, build‑and‑configure role.

About the Role

- Permanent, full‑time position
- Mainly on‑site, with 1 day WFH (flexible) - Brisbane based

Key Responsibilities

- Own end‑to‑end configuration of SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central and Recruiting, including security and role‑based permissions (RBP)
- Plan and execute SuccessFactors releases, patches, and bi‑annual upgrades, including impact assessment and regression testing
- Configure and maintain Employee Central data models, business rules, workflows, MDF objects, and picklists
- Monitor system performance, data integrity, and platform health — proactively identifying and resolving issues
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex incidents and service requests, ensuring SLAs are met
- Document system configuration and standard operating procedures




- Liaise with SAP support and internal stakeholders (HR, IT, Payroll) to translate business requirements into system configuration

What You’ll Bring

- 8+ years of overall SAP experience, including a minimum of 5 years dedicated to SAP SuccessFactors configuration
- Proven experience as a functional/configuration consultant on at least one full‑cycle SuccessFactors implementation or major upgrade
- Strong hands‑on, technical configuration expertise in Employee Central — business rules, workflows, MDF, and the RBP security model
- Solid hands‑on experience configuring SuccessFactors Recruiting
- SAP SuccessFactors certification(s) in relevant modules required (e.g. Employee Central, Recruiting Management)
- Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills
- Note: this is a hands‑on configuration/technical role — candidates whose background is primarily business analysis or requirements gathering (without deep, hands‑on configuration experience) will not be a fit
