People & Culture Advisor - Brisbane Airport
Trident Services Australia is looking for an experienced People & Culture Advisor to join our Brisbane Airport operation.
This is a dedicated, site-based ER/IR and P&C; partnering role supporting a complex, highly unionised, 24/7 operational environment with more than 200 employees.
You’ll work closely with operational leaders, supervisors, employees and union representatives, providing practical support across employee relations, industrial relations, grievances, investigations, performance, conduct, attendance and workplace change.
This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys being close to the operation, building trusted relationships and helping leaders resolve people matters early and effectively.
Recruitment is managed centrally by our Recruitment team, allowing you to focus on people partnering and ER/IR. You’ll retain the important site interface for interview coordination and new starter readiness, including ASIC/airport access, uniforms and local onboarding requirements.
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will:
Provide proactive and practical P&C; advice to managers and supervisors across the Brisbane Airport operation.
Manage employee relations matters including grievances, performance, conduct, attendance and disciplinary processes.
Conduct and support workplace investigations.
Build constructive, professional relationships with union delegates and officials.
Participate confidently in consultation, union meetings and workplace dispute-resolution processes.
Provide advice on the applicable Enterprise Agreement, policies and employment obligations.
Coach leaders to manage people matters confidently, consistently and at the appropriate level.
Support organisational change and consultation processes.
Maintain accurate and timely case documentation and ensure actions are followed through to resolution.
Monitor and analyse people trends including absenteeism, turnover, grievances, ER/IR activity and recurring workforce issues.
Use workforce insights to identify emerging risks and recommend practical actions before matters escalated.
Coordinate on-site interviews in partnership with the central Recruitment team.
Manage site-specific new starter requirements including ASIC/airport access, uniforms and local induction arrangements.
Work closely with the broader P&C; team,
Payroll and operational stakeholders to support effective employee outcomes.
About you
You’ll be an experienced HR/P&C; professional who is comfortable working in a fast-moving operational environment and confident dealing with complex employee matters.
You’ll ideally bring:
Experience in a People & Culture Advisor, HR Advisor, Employee Relations Advisor or similar role.
Strong hands-on employee relations experience.
Experience working within a unionised workforce and confidence engaging with union delegates and officials.
Sound knowledge of industrial relations, Enterprise Agreements and employment legislation.
Experience managing grievances, investigations, performance and disciplinary matters.
Strong judgement and the confidence to provide clear, practical advice to operational leaders.
Strong written communication, documentation and case-management skills.
The ability to interpret workforce data and identify trends or emerging people risks.
A calm, resilient and pragmatic approach to challenging situations.
The ability to build trusted relationships with both employees and leaders while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
Experience in aviation, cleaning, facilities management, security, transport or another large frontline operational environment will be highly regarded.
What does success look like?
In this role, success means:
Managers and supervisors receive timely, practical P&C; support and have greater confidence managing people matters.
ER/IR matters are handled consistently, fairly and through to resolution.
Strong, constructive relationships are maintained with employees, union representatives and operational leaders.
Workforce and ER/IR trends are identified early and practical action is taken to prevent escalation.
Investigations, documentation and employee processes are accurate, timely and compliant.
New starter and site-specific onboarding requirements are completed effectively in partnership with the central Recruitment team.
Brisbane Airport has a visible and trusted P&C; presence supporting both employees and operational leadership.
Leaders increasingly manage performance, conduct, attendance and employee relations matters at the appropriate level.
This is an opportunity to have genuine influence within one of our major operational environments.
You’ll have:
A dedicated site portfolio and close connection with operational leadership.
Genuine ownership of employee and industrial relations matters.
Exposure to a complex, large-scale frontline workforce.
Support from the broader Trident People & Culture team.
The prospect to strengthen leader capability and improve the employee experience.
The chance to join Trident during an exciting period of investment in our P&C; capability, systems and processes.
