The Role

n

We are seeking to appoint an artistic and committed Dance Teacher to lead our highly creative Specialist Dance program.

n

The desired applicant will ideally have a passion for teaching Dance at the secondary level and a strong understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum. In this role, the successful applicant would deliver an engaging and inclusive curriculum tailored to the diverse learning needs of all students, fostering creativity, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for the performing arts. Applicants with experience teaching Dance from Years 7 to 12 are encouraged to apply. The ability and experience to coordinate, manage and run auditions, performances and concerts during and after school, both internally and externally will be viewed favourably.

The ideal applicant should possess strong communication, interpersonal, organisation and leadership skills, anticipating their active contribution to shaping and promoting the school's values, ethos, and priorities across the entire school community and beyond.



The capacity and willingness of applicants to engage and promote the Balcatta SHS Specialist Dance Program to surrounding primary schools and the local community is desired.

Please note that there may be a possibility to undertake some Health and Physical Education (HPE) classes therefore applicants with HPE experience are encouraged to apply.

Eligibility

- hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.

- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment. More information about employment eligibility can be found on our website.

- apply for a WA Working with Children Check before you start; and
n
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
