Job Description

As a specialist recruitment partner, we are currently sourcing on behalf of a major public sector client. We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager for an initial 3-month assignment based in a central CBD location. Standard working hours for this role are based on five 7.6-hour days, totalling a maximum 38-hour week.

The Role In this essential assignment, you will provide immediate, dedicated oversight of complex e-mobility, advertising, and personalised public transport contracts. Your primary objective will be to support service continuity, contractual compliance, supplier performance, and effective risk management. Ultimately, your commercial expertise will ensure the successful achievement of our client's financial and customer outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage contract performance, compliance obligations, risks, and quality assurance requirements.
- Implement corrective actions for any identified non-compliance.
- Manage key supplier, contractor, and stakeholder relationships to support effective service delivery and commercial outcomes.
- Lead commercial negotiations, procurement activities, and whole-of-life contract management.
- Ensure all commercial activities accord with legislative, policy, probity, and financial requirements.
- Monitor and address active supplier performance and compliance issues to protect the continuity of contracted services.
- Identify and implement improvements to contract management practices, supplier performance, and service outcomes.




- Provide strategic and expert advice on transport contracts, associated risks, emerging issues, and commercial opportunities.
- Provide leadership to a small team of up to 2 direct reports.

Key Qualifications and Experience

- You Proven experience in the strategic management of complex contracts and supplier performance. Demonstrated commercial negotiation, procurement, and contract compliance experience.
- Solid ability to identify and manage contractual, financial, and operational risks. Experience managing non-compliance and successfully implementing corrective actions.
- Strong stakeholder and supplier relationship management skills.
- Sound commercial judgement, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities. Experience leading teams, driving organisational change, and fostering continuous improvement.
- Background in public transport or e-mobility contracts is highly desirable.
- You must hold Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or a visa permitting work in Australia for the assignment period.
