A top opportunity exists to join a busy automotive mechanic workshop in Sandgate.

n

This is a full-time position for a TRADE QUALIFIED Light or Heavy vehicle mechanic to join our existing team.

n

We specialise in cars, mining light vehicles, small & medium truck servicing & repairs for corporate fleetcustomers.

n

We carry out a wide variety of brake and clutch repairs, diagnostics, some auto electrical work, mining fit-outs, and also tyre fitting & balancing.

n

We also have a mobile truck for repairs & servicing, and you may be required to do breakdown work for customers' on-site.

n

In this role, you will:

n

Key Responsibilities and Duties

n

Diagnostics: Test and analyse engines, transmission, and electrical faults using computerised diagnostic scanners.

n

Routine Maintenance: Perform scheduled logbook services, oil and filter changes, fluid checks, and tyre rotations.

n

Repairs & Replacements: Fix or replace worn or damaged parts in brakes, clutches, steering, suspensions, cooling systems and engines.

n

Compliance: Conduct safety checks and roadworthy inspections where required.

n

Record Keeping: Document parts used, labour hours, and service details for customer invoices and logbooks.

n

Have knowledge working on all types of small to medium trucks,



and desirable knowledge of working on cars / light vehicles or vice versa

n

Possess your own tools for the role

n

Need to ensure that the customer has total satisfaction with the maintenance and repair work carried out

n

Have excellent customer service and communication skills

n

Tyre fitting knowledge is desirable.

n

Heavy Vehicle licence for test drivingif servicing heavy vehicles - desirable.

n

Having a great attitude is essential!

n

As a mechanic in the workshop, your contribution to the success of the business is critical.

n

The position will involve:

- Carrying out all repairs and maintenance in a timelyand effective manner
n
- Completing all relevant paperwork in full as required
n
- Working as a proactive team member toensure the smooth running of the workshop
n

n

Working week Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm. 2 x 30min breaks. 40hrs paid weekly

n

Must have a current driver's licence (manual preferred) & own transport and own tools required.

n

We DO NOT require an apprentice.

n

Unfortunately, we are not in a position to sponsor an overseas candidate. You must live locally to Newcastle.
