Rockfield Technologies Australia is a growing engineering consultancy delivering practical and innovative solutions across the infrastructure, mining and resources sectors.

We are looking for an organised and detail-focused Finance Officer to join our Business Services team in Townsville.

n

This is a full-time contract position for up to 12 months, with the potential to transition to permanent full-time employment based on business requirements and performance.

n

About the role

n

Working closely with our Finance Co-ordinator, you will provide day-to-day support across Rockfield's finance and accounting activities.

n

This is a wide-ranging, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working across different areas of finance, takes pride in accuracy and can confidently follow matters through to completion.

n

Key responsibilities include:

n

- Payroll preparation and processing
n
- Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
n
- Completing financial reconciliations
n
- Processing a range of financial transactions and related documentation
n
- Maintaining supplier, creditor and finance system records
n
- Assisting with information required for financial, taxation, compliance and audit activities
n
- Following up outstanding invoices, approvals and supporting documentation
n
- Responding to routine finance queries from employees, suppliers and clients
n
- Supporting improvements to finance systems and processes
n
- Providing broader Business Services support when required
n

About you

n

You will be reliable,



organised and comfortable managing recurring deadlines and competing priorities. You will understand the importance of confidentiality, accuracy and appropriate financial controls.

n

Ideally, you will have:

n

n
- Previous experience in an accounts, finance administration or similar role
n
- Experience with accounts payable and/or accounts receivable
n
- Strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail
n
- Good organisational and time-management skills
n
- Confidence using accounting and general business systems
n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
n
- The ability to identify discrepancies and follow up information
n
- A professional and collaborative approach
n
- The ability to handle confidential financial and employee information appropriately
n

n

Experience with payroll, invoicing, reconciliations, MYOB or similar finance systems will be highly regarded. A relevant qualification in accounting, bookkeeping, finance or business administration would also be advantageous.
