About the role:

n

n
- As a CBRE Data Center Technician,you will play a crucial role in maintaining the operational integrity of our critical infrastructure.
n
- You will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and corrective repairs within a data center operation, ensuring the seamless operation of critical systems. Oversight of electrical and mechanical systems, including but not limited to: Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, generators, chillers,



Electrical Distribution, HVAC systems, Building Management Systems (BMS) systems, and CMMS Work Dispatching.

- This position is part of the Critical and Technical Services job function, focusing on delivering technical maintenance services in high-stakes client environments
n

What You'll Do:

n

n
- Conduct daily site inspections of all Mechanical & Engineering systems and technical equipment, including servicing and maintenance tasks.
n
- Ensure that the site's environmental conditions are conducive to a safe and efficient work environment.
n
- Respond promptly to Building Management System alarms and perform emergency repairs as necessary.
n
- Collaborate with third-party vendors to ensure compliance with company-developed processes, procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations.
n
- Notify management if subcontractor performance does not meet the requirements outlined in the Master Service Agreement
n
- Execute planned preventative maintenance (PM) and reactive maintenance on all equipment.
n
- Monitor the Building Management System for running and alarm conditions, addressing HVAC-related client issues.
n
- Perform building walkthroughs, taking meter readings from UPS, PDUs, and utilities.
n
- Address facility and plant faults and defects with effective solutions.
n
- Complete assigned work following established processes and procedures, adhering to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements. Conduct routine quality checks to maintain comprehensive maintenance records.
n




- Complete all required training to ensure the successful completion of job-related responsibilities.
n
- Utilize existing procedures to solve straightforward problems, with limited discretion.
n
- Impact through clearly defined duties, methods, and tasks are described in detail.
n
- Deliver results by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.

What You'll need:

n

Essential

n

n
- Must understand all the associated safety code related requirements relative to providing the service. Experience with Health & Safety Risk Assessments and Control Measures
n
- Experience of maintaining critical & temperature control conditioned environments
n
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in maintaining critical and temperature controlled environments is required
n
- Detailed understanding and experience of the electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center setting, including Feeders, Transformers, Generators, Fuel Systems, Switchgear, UPS systems, Battery banks, ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units, Air handling units, chilled water systems, Fire Alarm systems, and Fire Suppression systems (pre-action sprinklers).
n
- Prior exposure to maintenance scheduling and subcontractor management and supervision
n
- Strong understanding of ticketing or workflow management systems and tools
n
- Experience of managing escalation and emergency issues
n
- NSW Electrical License is required. Minimum Certificate III Electrotechnology Electrician
n
- Good building services knowledge
n
- Good Customer relationship skills
n
- Working knowledge of "Permit to work" systems
n
- Understand and interpret technical drawings / processes
n
- Experience of CMMS and BMS systems
n
- "Unless otherwise advised, CBRE data centre sites require Australian Citizenship and on request from our customers participating in a government clearance process and holding a government clearance up to NV1 is required".
