About the Opportunity

n

We're seeking a Disability Advocate to provide information, support and advocacy to people with disability, their families and carers.

n

This is a full-time, fixed-term opportunity until 30 June 2027.

n

You'll work directly with clients experiencing issues relating to disability services, discrimination, abuse, neglect, decision‐making, complaints, access to supports and navigating complex systems, including the NDIS.

n

In this role, you will:

- Support clients to understand and exercise their rights
n
- Advocate for individuals experiencing barriers or disadvantage
n
- Assist clients to navigate disability services and systems, including the NDIS
n
- Build relationships with community organisations and stakeholders
n
- Represent ADA Australia at community events and forums
n

n

About You

n

You're passionate about social justice and empowering people to have their voices heard.

n

You will bring:

n

n
- Qualifications in human services, social work, behavioural science, community services and/or equivalent experience
n




- Experience working with or supporting people with disability or other vulnerable groups
n
- Strong communication, advocacy and relationship‐building skills
n
- Sound judgement, problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
n
- Strong administrative and computer skills, including experience using client management systems
n
- Valid Australian Driver Licence
n
- Current (less than three years old) National Criminal History Certificate
n
- Valid NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
n
- Valid Working with Children Blue Card
n
