Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Bookkeeper to join a collaborative finance team on an initial 4-month contract supporting multiple business entities within a growing organisation based in the north of Brisbane.

This role will suit someone who enjoys a hands‐on accounting environment and is comfortable balancing transactional finance responsibilities with process improvement initiatives. You'll play a key role in maintaining day‐to‐day financial operations while also contributing to projects aimed at improving efficiency, controls, and systems across the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

- End-to-end Accounts Payable processing
n
- Accounts Receivable management, including customer account maintenance and collections
n
- Bank reconciliations across multiple accounts and entities
n
- Assisting with month-end activities and financial reporting requirements
n
- Maintaining process documentation and procedural guides
n
- Supporting data cleansing and finance improvement projects
n
- Reviewing and enhancing existing finance processes and controls
n
- Assisting with the evaluation and implementation of improved corporate credit card management processes and systems
n
- Liaising with stakeholders across the business to ensure accurate and timely financial information

About You

n

- Previous experience in a Bookkeeping, Finance Officer, or Assistant Accountant position
n
- Strong Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and bank reconciliation experience
n
- Experience using Xero or similar cloud‐based accounting systems
n
- Excellent attention to detail and problem‐solving skills
n
- The ability to identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements
n
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
n
- Confidence working across multiple priorities in a fast‐paced environment
n
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills preferred
n
