Job Description

Urban Rec is Canberra's biggest social sports club, a one stop shop for all things sport, and recreation in our city. We play 12 different sports over 45+ leagues weekly in Canberra. We are looking for legends host our leagues across Canberra.

We work with league hosts in two ways:

n

n
- Casual Hosts who work Monday to Thursday nights and look after a range of different sports.
n
- Hosts who work one night a week and take a single sport.
n

n

Host oversee the entire evening's proceedings, including being responsible for bringing all the equipment, starting and finishing the games on time, monitoring the games and rules, and providing a fun environment for the players to enjoy their night of sport.

What you need to do:

n

n
- Look after the equipment.
n
- Set up and play music – that's right, always tunes at our sport events!
n
- Monitor/Referee, the games.
n
- Police and report any unfair, or unsportsmanlike conduct.
n
- Greet teams, and be their main point of contact for the league.
n
- Start and finish games on time.
n
- Keep and record scores, including 'Fun Points'
n
- Let teams know about any Urban Rec events/parties coming up
n
- Contribute to the general 'energy' of the evening.
n
- Be an ambassador for Urban Rec.
n




- Take sweet photos for our social media highlight reel.
n
- Make sure ring-in players have done their waivers online.
n

Your Legendary Requirements

n

n
- Have your own access and transport to the fields, to be able to carry a kit bag of equipment.
n
- Be available 1 to 4 weeknights each week on an ongoing basis.
n
- Be reliable and available long term, we run leagues year-round.
n
- Have a good knowledge of the sport you are hosting rules, (no formal referee experience needed).
n
- Be outgoing, fun and able to build relationships with people.
n
- Be a passionate and energetic person, who enjoys meeting new people.
n
- First Aid Certificate (Or ability to get one).
n
- You must be over 18 to work with Urban Rec.
n
