An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Project Accountant to take a lead role in a significant finance and systems implementation within a complex public sector environment.

This is a senior, hands-on finance role suited to someone who combines strong management accounting, financial governance and reconciliation experience with the ability to work across projects, systems and senior stakeholder groups. It is a contract role through to end of Feb 2027.

The Role

- Leading the finance workstream supporting the implementation and enhancement of a major financial management system.
n
- Establishing and strengthening financial governance, including reconciliations, financial controls, reporting and compliance processes.
n
- Providing financial oversight across project activities and ensuring risks, issues and deliverables are effectively managed.
n
- Supporting the design of robust end-to-end financial processes and controls.
n




- Analysing and reconciling large and complex financial datasets to ensure accuracy and data integrity.
n
- Providing high-quality financial advice and reporting to senior stakeholders.

About You

n

You will ideally have:

n

n
- Extensive management accounting and financial analysis experience.
n
- Solid experience with financial governance, reconciliations, controls, audit readiness and compliance.
n
- Experience contributing to or leading the finance workstream of a complex project or transformation.
n
- Exposure to ERP, financial or management systems implementations or upgrades.
n
- Advanced analytical skills and experience working with large volumes of financial data.
n
- CPA, CA or postgraduate qualifications will be highly regarded
n
- Prior experience in Vic Gov
