SMD PLASTERING PTY LTD is an established plastering business operating in Melbourne, Victoria. We provide professional plastering and wall and ceiling finishing services for residential and commercial projects.

Due to ongoing business growth and increasing project requirements, we are seeking an experienced and reliable Plasterer to join our team on a full-time basis.

About the Role

n

As a Plasterer, you will be responsible for carrying out plastering and finishing works across various residential and commercial projects. The successful applicant will be required to work independently and as part of a team while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Read and interpret building plans, drawings and specifications to determine plastering requirements.
n
- Prepare walls, ceilings and other surfaces for plastering and finishing.
n
- Measure, mark and set out areas to be plastered.
n
- Apply plaster, render and other plastering materials to walls and ceilings.
n
- Install and repair plasterboard, wall linings and related materials.
n
- Fix plasterboard sheets to walls and ceilings using appropriate methods and materials.
n
- Apply base coats, finishing coats and decorative finishes as required.
n
- Mix and prepare plastering compounds and materials to the required consistency.
n
- Smooth, level and finish plastered surfaces to achieve the required standard.
n
- Repair cracks, holes, damaged plaster and other surface defects.
n




- Sand and prepare finished surfaces for painting or further finishing.
n
- Ensure plastering works are completed accurately and in accordance with project specifications.
n
- Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
n
- Follow workplace health and safety requirements and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
n
- Coordinate with other trades and site personnel to ensure works are completed efficiently and on schedule.

Skills & Experience

n

The successful candidate will ideally have:

n

n
- At least 2 years of relevant plastering experience.
n
- Demonstrated experience in plasterboard installation, plastering and finishing works.
n
- Ability to read and understand building plans and specifications.
n
- Good knowledge of plastering materials, tools and techniques.
n
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
n
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
n
- Good communication and time-management skills.
n
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
n
- Australian construction experience will be highly regarded.
n
