Summary

n

Golden Heart Services is seeking compassionate and reliable Support Workers to join our growing team across Inner West and Eastern Suburbs locations.

n

This role involves supporting individuals with psychosocial disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and autism in both Supported Independent Living (SIL) and community settings.

n

We are looking for individuals who are calm, emotionally resilient, and committed to delivering person-centred, trauma-informed care.

n

Responsibilities

n

n
- Provide emotional, behavioural, and physical support to participants
n
- Assist with daily living activities including personal care, hygiene, and meal preparation
n
- Support participants with community access, appointments, and skill-building activities
n
- Administer medication in line with care plans and training
n
- Implement positive behaviour support strategies and de-escalation techniques
n
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes
n
- Communicate effectively with families, support coordinators, and clinical teams
n
- Monitor and report changes in participant wellbeing or behaviour
n
- Promote a safe, consistent, and supportive environment
n

Key Requirements

n

n




- Current First Aid & CPR certification
n
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
n
- Valid driver's licence (strongly preferred)
n
- Availability across a rotating roster including weekdays and a mix of shift types
n
- Willingness to work across SIL and Community Participation supports
n

n

Desired Experience & Skills

n

n
- Experience supporting individuals with: Psychosocial disabilities (mental health) Intellectual disability and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Trauma-informed care and complex behaviours Co-occurring presentations (e.g. mental health and substance use)
n
- Strong behavioural support and de-escalation skills
n
- Medication administration competency (highly desirable)
n
- Manual handling and personal care experience
n
- Understanding of NDIS Practice Standards and Code of Conduct
n

Qualifications

- Minimum: High School Certificate (or equivalent)
n
- Preferred: Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, or Community Services
n
- Further study in disability, mental health, or related fields is advantageous
n
