J&T; Hort is seeking a motivated Assistant Farm Manager to join our growing citrus orchard operations in the Narrabri region.

This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys working in the field, leading a team and being actively involved in the day-to-day management of a productive citrus orchard.

n

Working closely with the Farm Manager, you will play an important role in coordinating orchard operations, supporting crop management and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with the planning and coordination of day-to-day orchard activities
n
- Supervising and supporting farm employees and contractors
n
- Monitoring crop health, tree development and orchard presentation
n
- Assisting with irrigation, fertigation and water management
n
- Supporting pest, disease and weed management programs
n
- Coordinating pruning, spraying,



nutrition and other seasonal activities
n
- Monitoring machinery, equipment and general farm infrastructure
n
- Maintaining accurate farm records and completing operational reporting
n
- Supporting harvest preparation and seasonal workforce coordination
n
- Ensuring work is carried out safely and in line with company procedures
n
- Identifying opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and orchard performance
n
- Stepping into additional management responsibilities when required
n

About You

n

We are looking for someone who is practical, reliable and genuinely enjoys working in horticulture.

n

n
- Previous experience in citrus or other horticulture or agricultural
n
- Experience supervising or leading a farm team
n
- A solid understanding of orchard operations and crop management
n
- Good knowledge of irrigation and general farm practices
n
- A strong focus on safety and attention to detail
n
- Good communication and people skills
n
- A hands-on approach and willingness to get involved in the field
n
- A current driver's license
n
- Chemical application experience and/or relevant chemical accreditation would be highly regarded
n
