Kallara Early Education is a brand-new Early Childhood Education and Care service that opened earlier this year. With our enrolments continuing to grow, we are looking for a friendly, organised and passionate Service Cook to join our team.

Our cook plays an important part in our service, preparing nutritious and delicious meals for our children each day while maintaining a clean, safe and well‐organised kitchen.

About the role

n

As our Service Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks for children attending the service.

n

Your responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Preparing fresh, nutritious and child‐friendly meals and snacks
n
- Following the service's rotating menu
n
- Catering for children's allergies, intolerances and dietary requirements
n
- Maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene
n
- Managing food preparation, storage and stock rotation
n




- Completing kitchen and food safety documentation
n
- Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen
n
- Managing stock levels and food ordering
n
- Working closely with educators and management regarding children's dietary needs
n
- Maintaining a strong understanding of child safety requirements within an Early Childhood setting
n

Essential Requirements

n

Applicants must have:

n

n
- A current and valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)
n
- Willing to Complete Child Safe Training through Geccko
n
- A current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
n
- A strong understanding of food safety, hygiene and safe food handling practices
n
- The ability to confidently manage allergies, intolerances and individual dietary requirements
n
- A reliable, organised and positive approach to their work
n

Previous experience working as a cook within an Early Childhood Education and Care service is highly regarded.
