Working closely with the Prevention & Population Health Lead, the role supports implementation of the Gippsland Population Health Strategy 2024–2029 through a place-based and equity-focused approach.
Key responsibilities
- The position works with community organisations, local government, health and community services, government agencies and other regional partners to design, implement and evaluate initiatives that improve population health outcomes.
- The role contributes to a coordinated regional public health system by strengthening partnerships, building local capacity, and ensuring prevention approaches are responsive to community needs.
- Design, deliver and evaluate health promotion and prevention activities that are evidence-based and responsive to local community needs.
- Build and maintain robust partnerships with community organisations, local government, health and community services and other stakeholders to support place-based public health initiatives.
What you need
- A relevant tertiary qualification in public health, health promotion, community development or a related discipline.
- At least five years’ experience in healthcare, public health, local government or a related sector.
- Strong knowledge of population health, prevention and the Victorian public health system.
