Full-Time Early Childhood Educator – Certificate III or Diploma

As a full-time educator at Alasan Cottage Preschool, you will work collaboratively with our team to provide high-quality education and care for our children. Alasan Cottage Preschool is an Exceeding-rated, community-focused early childhood service providing a warm, welcoming and play-based learning environment for children aged 2–5 years. We are committed to creating a nurturing and engaging preschool environment where children are supported to learn, develop, build confidence and develop a strong sense of belonging through meaningful, child-centred learning experiences.

Key responsibilities

Building warm, respectful and responsive relationships with children and families

Planning and implementing meaningful, play-based learning experiences based on children's interests, strengths, needs and developmental goals

Completing observations and contributing to children's individual learning documentation

Demonstrating a thorough understanding of the programming and learning cycle and using this knowledge within everyday practice

Applying the EYLF to curriculum planning, documentation and reflective practice

Contributing to critical reflection and the ongoing development of our educational program

Supporting children's wellbeing, inclusion, independence and positive relationships





Working collaboratively with educators, families and other professionals

Maintaining a safe, welcoming and engaging learning environment

Following service policies, procedures and all relevant regulatory requirements

About you

Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, or an approved equivalent qualification

Current approved Child Protection training

Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)

Extensive knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)

Thorough understanding of the programming and learning cycle and the ability to confidently contribute to observations, planning, implementation, evaluation and reflection

Knowledge of the National Quality Standard (NQS) and National Quality Framework

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Warm, professional and respectful approach when communicating with children, families and colleagues
