About the role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Dental Prosthetist to join our team at Sea Breeze Dentistry in Seaford, VIC. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in providing specialist prosthodontic care to our patients. As a Dental Prosthetist, you will be responsible for designing, manufacturing and fitting dental prostheses, including dentures, denture implants, provisional mouthguards. Your expertise will directly contribute to restoring patient function and confidence, making a meaningful difference to their quality of life. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside a collaborative team of dental professionals in a modern practice setting.
Key responsibilities
- Assessment and diagnosis of patients requiring prosthodontic treatment, including consultation and treatment planning
- Design and fabrication of complete and partial dentures, ensuring optimal fit, function and aesthetics
- Modification and adjustment of existing prostheses to achieve patient comfort and satisfaction
- Taking accurate impressions and measurements using appropriate clinical and laboratory techniques
- Collaboration with dentists and Senior Dental Prosthetist to ensure clinical specifications are met and maintained
- Patient education and instruction regarding care, maintenance and use of prostheses
- Record-keeping and maintenance of patient documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Continued professional development and staying current with advancements in prosthodontic materials and techniques
What we're looking for
- Recognised qualification in dental prosthetistry or equivalent recognised credential in prosthodontics
- Current registration with AHPRA
- Minimum 2-3 years' skilled experience as a qualified Dental Prosthetist in a clinical setting
- Extensive knowledge of prosthodontic materials, techniques and clinical protocols
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic capabilities
- Proficiency in taking accurate impressions and measurements
- Experience with digital dental technology and computer-aided design systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients and dental team members
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, functional prostheses
- Ability to work efficiently and manage patient scheduling effectively
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and dental health and safety regulations
- Desirable: experience with dental implants and advanced prosthodontic techniques
