Key Responsibilities

Main Duties

n

- Planning menus, estimating food and kitchen labour costs, ordering food supplies
n
- Monitor quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
n
- Discussing food preparation issues with managers, kitchen and wait staff
n
- Supervising,



demonstrating techniques and advising cooking procedures to kitchen staff when necessary
n
- Preparing and cooking food according to menu and for functions
n
- Explain and enforce hygiene regulations
n
- Assist in selecting and training kitchen staff
n
- Freeze and preserve food when necessary
n

Skill & Experience

n

To be successful in this role you will have to:

- Maintain a guest focus while performing duties
n
- Responsibility for quality of products served.
n
- Graciously and quickly fulfill any guest request possible
n
- Complete opening and closing checklists.
n
- Daily Preparation List at the start of each shift assigning duties.

Qualification

n

Certificate III or IV Commercial Cookery or equivalent

n

Experience

n

Minimum 3 years relevant industry experience

n

Extensive experience in similar position may substitute the formal qualifications
