Synopsis:

Cultural Services Admin and Projects Officer

This is an identified Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander position under Section 50(d) of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA). To be eligible for appointment, applicants must identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.

Join the City of Melville's Cultural Services team in this rewarding 18-month parental leave cover chance, where you'll play a key role in supporting programs and initiatives that strengthen community connections, celebrate culture and contribute to meaningful outcomes across our city. Working across Libraries, Museums, Arts, Events and First Nations Services, you'll provide business and project support while helping deliver inclusive, community-focused services and building positive relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Location: City of Melville Civic Centre

Salary: Level 3/4 $74,751.96 to $87,756.70 pro-rata p.a. + 12% Super

Employment Type: Fixed Term Full Time

What You’ll Be Doing

- Providing business and administrative support across the Cultural Services portfolio
- Supporting staff with organisational systems, procurement, finance, governance and administrative processes
- Preparing reports, correspondence, presentations, agendas, minutes and briefing materials
- Coordinating small projects, programs, events and business improvement initiatives
- Monitoring project milestones, action plans, timelines and deliverables
- Researching and compiling information to support planning, reporting and decision-making
- Developing and maintaining procedures, work instructions and operational documentation
- Supporting community engagement and consultation activities
- Building respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, stakeholder groups and partner organisations
- Contributing to initiatives that strengthen community participation, inclusion and the City’s reconciliation commitments

What We’re Looking For

You will bring strong organisational skills, initiative and the ability to confidently manage competing priorities. You will be comfortable working independently while also building collaborative relationships with colleagues, community members and external stakeholders.





To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Eligibility for appointment under Section 50(d) of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA)
- Experience in business support, administration, project coordination, community development, cultural services or a related area
- The ability to build respectful and effective relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, organisations and communities
- Community engagement, consultation and stakeholder relationship management skills
- Experience supporting projects, programs, events or business improvement initiatives
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work independently, use sound judgement and manage competing priorities
- Strong organisational, problem-solving and time management skills
- Experience using Microsoft 365 applications and corporate business systems
