Job Description

- Based in Adelaide or Brisbane Office

- Immediate Start

- 6 month contract

We're currently looking for an Environments Artist to join us and work on our exciting projects over the next 6 months.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Create and assemble environment assets - meshes, shaders, and instancers - for Lighting and other downstream departments, ensuring output meets handover requirements
n
- Propose procedural or traditional methodologies to add value in scale, efficiency, or quality, and agree an approach with your lead before executing it
n
- Manage your own workload, meet deadlines, follow QC procedures, and present work-in-progress regularly for feedback
n
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues independently, and structure your work for smooth handover
n
n
Skills and Experience
n
n
- Strong Houdini knowledge, especially SOPs
n
- Solid experience in one or more generalist areas: hard surface/procedural modeling, height field manipulation, texture painting, procedural shader building/lookdev, layout, or in-world lighting
n
- Coding ability in VEX/Python and familiarity with 3D DMP techniques
n
- Solid understanding of the VFX pipeline and post-production process, including interdepartmental handovers
n
- Working knowledge of Maya, Katana, Mari, Nuke, SpeedTree, Blender, ZBrush, or Gaea is a bonus
n
- Strong time management, communication, and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail
