Job Description

NCC Apparel is seeking a practical and detail-focused Junior Product Developer to support the development, approval and ongoing quality of our apparel ranges.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a background in garments, fashion, textiles or apparel production who understands garment construction and is comfortable working with samples, specifications, measurements, suppliers and production teams.

n

The successful candidate will work closely with our Product Development, Production and Quality teams across new product development and existing product improvements.

n

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with the development of current garments from initial concept through to production.
n
- Review samples for construction, fit, measurements, workmanship and overall presentation.
n
- Prepare and update garment specifications, measurement charts, sample comments and technical documentation.
n
- Assist with garment flats, colourways and technical artwork using Adobe Illustrator or similar software.
n
- Support the development and approval of fabrics, trims, labels, embroidery, printing and packaging.
n
- Maintain accurate product development records, sample trackers and approval information.
n
- Communicate sample comments and technical requirements clearly to overseas suppliers and factories.
n
- Follow up development samples, approvals and production requirements to ensure timelines are maintained.
n
- Work with internal teams to resolve garment construction, fit and production issues.
n
- Check production garments against approved samples, specifications and quality requirements.
n




- Assist with bulk garment inspections and preparation of inspection reports when required.
n
- Identify workmanship or measurement issues and communicate corrective actions to the relevant team or supplier.
n
- Work closely with the alteration team where garment construction or sewing knowledge is required.
n
- Assist with continuous improvement of garment quality, construction and product performance.

Skills & Experience

n

n
- We are looking for someone with:
n
- Experience or qualifications in Fashion, Textiles, Garment Technology, Product Development or a related field.
n
- Good understanding of garment construction and sewing methods.
n
- Ability to read and work with garment specifications and measurement charts.
n
- Experience assessing fit, measurements and workmanship.
n
- Good attention to detail and ability to identify garment defects or construction issues.
n
- Adobe Illustrator skills or experience with similar technical drawing/design software.
n
- Good computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and email.
n
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
n
- Ability to organise multiple samples and development projects at the same time.
n
- A practical and problem-solving approach.
n
- Experience in patternmaking, grading, sample machining, garment production, quality inspection or working with overseas apparel factories would be highly regarded.
